This policy covers this website and the way Courtland Roofing handles information from homeowners who get in touch with us. We have tried to write it in plain language and to describe what actually happens rather than what a template says usually happens.
The Short Version
This website does not collect anything about you. There is no contact form, no analytics and no advertising pixel, and we do not set any cookie of our own. The one thing on the site that is not ours is the Google map on our city pages, and it is described below. We only hold information you choose to give us when you call, text or email, we use it to quote and do the work, and we do not sell it to anyone.
What This Website Collects
Nothing directly. The site is a set of static pages. It stores nothing in your browser and runs no analytics or advertising scripts of any kind, so there is no profile of your visit for us to keep.
Three things do happen that are worth naming, because they are the only three, and none of them is ours:
- Server logs. This site is hosted on Replit, which runs on Google Cloud. Like any web host it records requests, including IP addresses, as part of serving and protecting the site. See Replit's privacy policy. We do not have access to these logs and do not use them.
- One hosting cookie. The hosting platform sets a cookie named
GAESAwhen it serves a page. It is what keeps you talking to the same server while you browse, it holds no information about you, and it is not ours to read. We set no cookies of our own, and there is nothing on this site that tracks you between visits. - The Google map. Each page about a service in a particular city shows a Google map of that city, so you can see the area we are describing. The map is loaded from Google, which means that when it appears your browser contacts Google and Google can see your IP address and set its own cookies, the same as if you had opened Google Maps yourself. We do not receive anything from it and we cannot see who has looked at a map. It is governed by Google's privacy policy. No other page on this site loads it.
There is nothing else. Apart from that map, every file this site loads — including the typeface — comes from this domain, and your browser is not asked to contact any other company in order to show you these pages.
What We Collect When You Contact Us
When you call, text or email us, we end up with whatever you tell us. In practice that is your name, your phone number or email address, the address of the property, what the roof is doing, and often photos. If there is an insurance claim we may also hold your claim number and correspondence about it.
We ask for this because we cannot quote a roof without it. You are not required to give us any of it, but there is a limit to how much we can help without an address and a way to reach you.
What We Do With It
We use it to answer your question, inspect the roof, prepare an estimate, schedule and carry out the work, order materials, register manufacturer warranties, invoice you, and keep records of what we did in case you need us later.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not hand it to advertisers or lead-generation companies.
Who Else Sees It
Only the people needed to finish your job:
- Your insurance company, when you have asked us to work your claim. That is the point of the claim support, and we work directly with the adjuster.
- Manufacturers, where a warranty has to be registered in your name.
- Suppliers and any subcontracted crew, limited to the delivery address and what the job requires.
- Our accountant, our insurer, or a court or government agency, where the law requires it.
Calls, Texts and Email
Texting us is an ordinary SMS message; your mobile carrier's usual message and data rates apply. We use your number to reply about your roof. We do not run marketing text campaigns and we do not add you to a list. If you would rather we stopped contacting you, say so in a reply or on the phone and we will stop.
Email to courylloyd@courtlandroofing.com is ordinary email, which is not an encrypted medium. Please do not send anything sensitive, such as financial account details, by email.
How Long We Keep It
Estimate and job records are kept for as long as they are useful for a warranty claim or required for tax and insurance purposes. Where we have quoted a job that never went ahead, there is no reason to hold it indefinitely, and you can ask us to delete it.
Your Choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can withdraw permission to contact you at any time. Call 801-745-5409 or email courylloyd@courtlandroofing.com and tell us what you want done. We will need to be reasonably sure who you are before we act on a request. Some records we have to keep even after a deletion request, such as the paperwork behind a completed job and its warranty, and we will tell you if that applies.
Links to Other Sites
Some pages link to our Facebook page, and our city pages cite sources such as the US Census Bureau and the USGS. These are ordinary links; following one takes you to a site with its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Our Facebook link is a plain link, not a tracking pixel, so nothing is reported to Facebook unless you click it.
Children
This is a site about roofing, aimed at homeowners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how any of this works, for example by adding a contact form or analytics, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Everything above describes the site as it stands on that date.
